Saints!

After 43 years the bayou boys bring it home! Growing up on the gulf coast, I've always been a loyal fan to the New Orleans Saints. Even though I may have rooted for a couple other teams, the Saints were always my first love. I remember the days of the "aints", the paper bags, and all the years of mediocrity. But those are all just distant memories now. After Katrina, the gulf coast got busy at rebuilding. And everyone needed something to believe in again. After the Saints win against the Falcons on the night of the re-opening of the Super Dome, it seemed like hope and faith were on the rebound. Who knew then that they were so close to fulfilling their championship destiny. The Saints represent not only a city but a whole region of people. And like the Saints, have seen some rough days. And this Super Bowl win is just what they needed to keep the spirits up and the rebuilding going strong. I for one believe that football is just a game, and like music it's only a tool that we use to channel our hopes, dreams, and failures through. And a way to connect with others on a level we don't usually take advantage of day to day. So let the party begin. There's so much to celebrate in life.
